About us
Personland is a small independent entertainment project at person.land. We sell souvenir online plots on the map of a fictional country. Each buyer gets a certificate, their name and picture on the map, and, if they choose, a place in a public registry.
What this is not
Personland is not a state, a company registered as a state, an investment or a financial product. Its certificates are not passports, visas, identity documents, diplomas, licences or court papers, and they have no legal force anywhere. If anything in Personland conflicts with the law of a real country, the real law wins.
Who runs it
Personland is run by Illia Orlovskyi, artist, game developer and Chairperson of Personland, a country that exists mostly on a map and in good humor. You can reach us at id@person.land (post registration requests) and personlandquestions@gmail.com (for other questions and collaboration).
How buying works
Tiles are paid for in USDT on the TRC20 network. Sales are final, with the exceptions in the Rules on Payments. After payment we send a certificate to the email used for the purchase. We keep only the data we need and publish a name in the registry only with your permission. The details are in the Rules on Payments and the Rules on the Registry.
A social experiment, too
Personland is also an experiment, and anyone who buys a tile is part of it.
The hypothesis is this: in today's hyper-capitalist environment, a project built on souvenir land will gradually turn into an advertising platform for borderline businesses. Whatever starts as a wish to bring people some joy and entertainment will be pulled apart by the pressure of money and by the gap between business demand (B2B) and ordinary buyers (B2C), until the original idea no longer survives.
We don't invite that outcome, and the Rules still apply to everyone, advertisers included. But we expect to see it try, and we intend to watch what happens. If we're wrong, we'll say so.
