Rules on Souvenirs
1. Status of certificates
1.1 All souvenirs of Personland are made for entertainment. They confirm only the fact of purchase of a souvenir.
1.2 Every souvenir certificate reads: “ENTERTAINMENT SOUVENIR. Not a passport, visa, identity card, diploma, licence or court paper.”
1.3 Certificates are issued in PDF format.
2. Types of certificates
2.1 Certificate of Ownership. Issued with every purchase and sent only to the email used for the purchase. If several tiles are bought together, one certificate lists all of them. It states the tile numbers, the name of the owner, the date of purchase, the owner's email and the citizen number.
2.2 Souvenir Citizen ID. An optional souvenir issued in the name of a person. It states the name, an image chosen by the owner, the tile numbers, the date of issue and the certificate number.
2.3 Certificate of Title, Profession or Skill. An optional souvenir that "recognizes" a title, profession or skill named by the owner. It states the name, the wording, the date of issue and the certificate number.
2.4 The Chairperson may add other souvenirs. Their rules are published on person.land.
3. Names and wording
3.1 The name, image and wording are provided by the owner and are published exactly as provided.
3.2 A certificate may be issued in the name of the owner, of another living person who has agreed to it, or of a fictional character.
3.3 Content on a certificate follows the rules on content in the Rules on Land (section 7).
3.4 Personland does not verify titles, professions or skills. A certificate under 2.3 is a joke recognition by Personland and not a confirmation of any qualification.
3.5 The following may not appear on any certificate:
- Titles, ranks or qualifications that require a real licence or degree, such as doctor of medicine, lawyer, notary, pilot, police officer or judge, presented as real.
- Names, emblems or seals of real states, courts, police, universities or other institutions.
- Anything that makes the certificate look official, such as machine-readable codes, holograms or security features.
4. Design
4.1 Souvenirs are designed in the style of Personland, using its flag and coat of arms, and in a way that cannot be mistaken for an official document.
4.2 Each certificate has a unique number.
5. How to obtain a souvenir
5.1 The Certificate of Ownership is sent by email to the registered email of the owner after the payment is confirmed.
5.2 Optional certificates are requested by email to the direct-line address from the registered email of the owner.
5.3 The price of optional certificates is shown on person.land at the time of request. Payment is made in accordance with Article 7 of the Constitution, and sales are final.
5.4 A certificate is issued within 14 days after payment is confirmed.
6. Corrections and copies
6.1 If a certificate contains a mistake made by Personland, it is corrected free of charge.
6.2 A mistake in the data provided by the owner may be corrected within 30 days after issue, free of charge, once per certificate. After that, a new certificate may be issued for the price of that certificate.
6.3 A lost certificate may be sent again to the registered email of the owner, free of charge.
6.4 When a certificate is replaced, the earlier one is marked void.
7. Change of owner
7.1 Certificates belong to the person named on them. A change of owner of a tile does not transfer the certificates.
7.2 After a change of owner or a replacement of the registered email, the owner may request a new Certificate of Ownership, and the previous one is marked void.
8. Misuse
8.1 The owner may not present a certificate as official, change it, or use it to deceive anyone.
8.2 The owner is responsible for the use of the certificate. Personland is not liable for how certificates are used by owners or third parties.
8.3 The Chairperson may mark a certificate void if its content breaks these Rules or the Rules on Land. The Chairperson states the reason (Constitution, Article 2.1). Removal does not entitle the owner to a refund (Constitution, Article 7.2).
