Rules on the Registry
1. Status of the Registry
1.1 The Registry and the Hall of Fame are souvenir lists kept for entertainment. They are not official registers and have no legal force (Constitution, Article 1).
1.2 Every page of the Registry and of the Hall of Fame carries the mark "Souvenir registry, not an official register."
2. Entry in the Registry
2.1 An entry is made only with the owner's written permission or written wish. Permission is given at the time of purchase through a checkbox that is off by default, or later by email from the registered email to the direct-line address.
2.2 The permission may be withdrawn at any time (see section 4).
3. What the Registry shows
3.1 An entry shows only:
- The name chosen by the owner
- The citizen number
- The tile numbers
- The date of purchase
- A description or message written by the owner
- A link to the tile on the map, which zooms to it
3.2 The email address, payment details and any other private data are never shown.
3.3 The name may be any name or nickname. Personland does not verify the identity of owners. The name, description and message follow the rules on content in the Rules on Land (section 7).
4. Removal from the Registry
4.1 An owner may ask to be removed from the Registry by writing from the registered email to the direct-line address.
4.2 The entry is removed within 14 days after the request.
4.3 Removal from the Registry does not remove the tile from the map. The owner's name and image on the tile follow Article 2.3 of the Constitution and may be removed separately on request.
4.4 Private purchase records are not part of the Registry and are kept as set out in section 8.
5. Citizen number
5.1 A citizen number is assigned to an owner at the first purchase made for the owner's email, in order of the date of purchase.
5.2 The number does not change and is not reused, even if the owner is later removed from the Registry.
5.3 The citizen number is stated on the Certificate of Ownership and in the Registry entry.
6. Hall of Fame
6.1 The Hall of Fame commemorates citizens of Personland who have passed away.
6.2 An entry is made only on request from a family member of the citizen. The request is sent to the direct-line address, with a link to a public message about the person's passing (for example, an obituary or a public post). The requester states that they are a family member and act with the consent of the family.
6.3 An entry shows the name, years of life and a short caption of up to 200 characters. No photographs are shown. An entry is free of charge.
6.4 A citizen may leave a written wish to be included in the Hall of Fame after their passing. The wish is sent from the registered email to the direct-line address. Personland makes the entry after it receives a request under 6.2.
6.5 The Chairperson may refuse or remove an entry if there is doubt about the request or its accuracy, and will state the reason (Constitution, Article 2.1).
6.6 A family member, or the citizen before passing, may ask to remove an entry at any time. The entry is removed within 14 days.
6.7 Captions follow the rules on content in the Rules on Land (section 7).
6.8 Inheritance of tiles is not available until transfers open (Rules on Land, 6.2).
7. Search engines
7.1 Pages of the Registry may be indexed by search engines.
7.2 Pages of the Hall of Fame are not indexed.
7.3 When an entry is removed, Personland removes it from the website and asks the search engines to update their results. It cannot control copies stored by search engines or by third parties, and it is not responsible for them.
8. Personal data
8.1 The Chairperson is responsible for personal data at Personland. Questions and requests are sent to the direct-line address.
8.2 What is kept. Personland keeps only what it needs to run the project:
- The email used for the purchase
- The name and the content provided by the owner
- The tile numbers, citizen number and date of purchase
- The payment record (amount, date and the transaction reference)
- Requests for souvenir certificates and the certificates issued
8.3 The data is kept to carry out the purchase, to issue certificates, to keep the map, to publish the Registry (only with permission under 2.1) and to keep accounts as the law requires.
8.4 Personland does not sell personal data, does not use it for advertising and does not share it, except with service providers who help run the website (hosting, email, payment processing) or where the law requires.
8.5 How long. The data is kept while the project operates. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting. Other data is deleted on request.
8.6 An owner may ask Personland to:
- Correct incorrect data (Hall of Fame, typographic error)
- Delete data, except where the data must be kept by law
- Stop publishing the data in the Registry (section 4)
Requests are made from the registered email, and Personland answers within 30 days.
8.7 Payments in cryptocurrency are recorded on a public blockchain. Personland cannot change or delete these records. The Registry does not show wallet addresses or transaction references.
8.8 Personland takes reasonable steps to protect data. If a breach affects owners' data, Personland informs the affected owners without undue delay where the law requires.
8.9 Personland does not knowingly collect data from persons under 18 (Constitution, Article 6.6).
8.10 If the project is closed and an archive is kept (Constitution, Article 8.2), the archive does not include the entries of owners who have been removed from the Registry or whose data has been deleted.
